Northeast USA Roller Sports Association Annual Awards Dinner 2005
On Monday, April 4, 2005 skaters from all over the Northeast Region of the United States gathered at the Venus De Milo, Swansea, MA. to receive awards from many categories from skating placements to receiving gold medals in tests, and meritorious reasons as well as scholorship winners.Skateland skaters Amanda Bati and Michael Adams will be honored at this dinner. Denise Diuvelis was representing another club last year when she acrued her awards and gold test medal.
2004 National placements:
Michael Adams and Amanda Bati for receiving the silver medal in team dance.
Amanda Bati for receiving the silver medal in solo dance.
Amanda Bati was a nominee in the HH JO AWARD category with five other skaters. It's like the movie awards, where you don't know until they open the envelope who won the award. Amanda didn't win.
Amanda also submitted an essay to compete in the scholorship award. Diane Duke from Hudson won this award.
It was discussed at the committee meeting to have awards for the regional winners. They decided that they could not include this category this year. If they did, we would have had Michael Adams for figures and Amanda Bati for solo dance, Alecia Schneider for solo dance, and Nancy Gauthier for solo dance.
This dinner was held on a Monday night and Swansea is near Fall River. It is a long drive and it's on a weeknight, but 24 Skateland club members were in attendance to honor our club members who were receiving an award. It's a dress up affair and the food is good. Dancing is after all the talks and awards.
