Northeast USA Roller Sports Association Annual Awards Dinner 2006
On Monday, April 3, 2006 skaters from all over the Northeast Region of the United States gathered at the Venus De Milo, Swansea, MA. to receive awards from many categories from skating placements to receiving gold medals in tests, and meritorious reasons as well as scholorship winners.Skateland skaters Amanda Bati and Michael Adams, Amy Claus, and Denise Giuvelis will be honored at this dinner. Amy's dance partner, Chris Gori, and Denise's partner, Ken Perkins, are from other clubs.
Our 2006 National placements:
Michael Adams and Amanda Bati for receiving the silver medal in Freshman/Sophomore "B" team dance.
Amy Claus and Chris Gori for receiving the silver medal in Sophomore team dance.
Denise Giuvelis and Ken Perkins for receiving the bronze medal in Junior team dance.
A big "congratulations" to Denise and Ken who won the "Dance Team of the Year" award. This is a nomination situation where they "open the envelope" to devulge the winner.
This dinner is held on a Monday night and Swansea is near Fall River. It is a long drive and it's on a weeknight, but 19 Skateland club members were in attendance to honor our club members who were receiving an award. It's a dress up affair and the food is good. Dancing follows the talks and awards.
